I got a new job in an adjoining state. I was running errands in the state and went to the post office to mail a package. When I went up to the window, they asked me to step out of line to fill out a postal form, and come back to the window when I was done. When I came back, another woman was approaching the window and got nasty with me because she thought I was trying to jump in front of her. We started to argue and I called her a bitch before I dropped off my package and left.
Three weeks later, I began my new job. My boss took me around to introduce me to the staff. Everyone seemed really nice. Then he took me to meet my assistant. It turned out to be the same woman that I called a bitch in the post office! She didn’t even recognize me! She was very nice to me and we work so well together now. We have even become close friends. Thank goodness she still doesn’t remember me from the post office that day! |
